Business trip, air-shipping fresh Yellowfin Tuna back to the U.S.

Maldives are an Islamic country. No beer and no dogs!

The atoll I'm on has no developed tourism. I've been eating tuna curry for breakfast, lunch and dinner for the past four days, dreaming of a cold beer! Luckily I'm headed back to Sri Lanka tomorrow. And Beer :)

Great diving and snorkeling...maybe that doesn't get you going though, eh?

;)

Seriously, I could see that being the case.

It's just fine here. World class diving and surfing!

However, I spend much of my time inside a fish processing plant grading tuna for export to the U.S. I usually get an hour or so of snorkeling in daily. Unfortunately, the atoll I'm is not one of the better for diving. Visibility and marine life are limited from the spots I'm able to access from shore. I do however, see two world class surfing breaks on the reef passes between the island I'm on and the adjacent island. "Honky's" is a classic refracting left break and "Jail Breaks" a speedy down the line right. Both are accessible only by boat.

It's not the coolest place that my tuna travels have brought me to. The food is rather limited and no nightlife other than watching the Euoro Cup, but I'm making the best of it. Did I mention no beer here...
